How to Kill Bed Bugs - Tips On How To Get Rid Of Bed Bugs Quickly And Easily

Many of us were put to sleep with the saying, 'good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite' as children, but have you ever really thought about what bed bugs were? Bed bugs are not as bad as everyone thinks they are, of course. They don't carry vicious diseases or imply uncleanliness--bed bugs can be picked up without you ever having to do anything but they are certainly a great deal harder to get rid of than they are to get. Luckily, learning how to kill bedbugs is not hard to do at all, and many of the things that you might have heard about their dogged tenacity to make your life miserable isn't true at all.

If you want to know the truth about how to eliminate bed bugs, put the mop and bucket down. Contrary to popular belief, bed bugs do not give a care in the world about the cleanliness of their surroundings. They are easily transmitted through clothing, luggage, boxes, and other vehicles from location to location and that is how they survive. Many people try the approach of just abandoning the premises for a while, in hopes that the bed bugs will be gone when they return but unfortunately they are known to live up to a year without a host to feed off of, so you might have to truly abandon your residence for that tactic to work.

A way to kill bed bugs more easily without having to move out of your home is to completely eliminate them; this can be difficult as these little creatures can hide just about anywhere, from behind the light plate on your wall to under your pillow and mattress, and seal up all cracks and crevices in the home--even the area between the wall and the molding where the floor meets the wall. Sealing up these areas decreases the likelihood of the bed bugs finding a place to lay low until the air clears--literally.

After everything has been sealed and exposed, there are a few methods you can use to get rid of bed bugs but the most practical by far is steam cleaning. Most professional exterminators will use steam cleaners to kill the bugs as they can hardly survive at temperatures above 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat kills the bugs, and after that it is just up to you to clean up the remains and make sure you don't ever have to deal with the bed bug problem ever again.

After the bugs have been killed, the problem is no longer how to kill bed bugs but how to keep them gone. If things are done right, rarely do bed bugs re-surface but it is important to always keep an eye out for them when you are traveling, even if you are staying at the Ritz-Carlton or the Waldorf-Astoria. After all, bed bugs do not discriminate and they have a tendency to travel great distances just to make the lives of human beings a tad bit more trying.

The History of the Bean Bag

It was back in the 1960's when three Italian designers created a brand new form of chair which was to take the world by storm. The still highly popular bean bag has been a favourite with many designers across the years, each adding and re-designing it to suit the needs of every customer. From highly luxurious leather and faux fur bean bags, to the more practical wipe clean versions for children, there is most definitely a bean bag suitable for every home.

Originally created by one of Italy's leading furniture companies, Zanotta, this innovative design was said to be discovered accidentally when a bag of Styrofoam was left in the warehouse. Although never proven, Gatti, Teodora and Paolini claim to be the inventors when they found that Styrofoam moves with and moulds around the user making an extremely comfortable seat. This revolutionised the furniture world and was very quickly duplicated across the globe with many department stores stocking their own range.

The very first mass produced bag was known as a 'Sacco', made out of Italian leather and pear-shaped with a headrest. Once mass produced, this seating option became hugely popular almost overnight and this 'giant cushion' was a must-have for any stylish and fashionable home. The 1970's saw a huge boom in the number of designers adding their own form with slight adjustments to make it unique. This was also the time when children's bean bags took off due to the wipe clean and washable removable cases. Parents found children loved the feel and comfort associated with the seat, but also enjoyed the fact that when they got dirty, the cover could simply be removed and washed.

During the 1980's the popularity of this style of seat started to diminish due to concerns over the safety for children who could be injured through breathing in the pellets. There were a few incidences where children had got inside the bag and managed to harm themselves. In the 1990's this was eradicated when new safety features came into use to prevent the harm of young children. A better inner casing for the pellets and childproof zips ensured the popularity of seat remained. The 90's also saw an upgrade in the material used to fill the bag. Shredded Polyurethane replaced the Styrofoam or PVC pellets as a far more soft and comfy seat.

In more recent years, designers have opted to use much finer materials to make the seat appealing for 'grown-ups'. By using materials such as faux suede, designers have targeted a more sophisticated market making the bean bag a luxury furniture item. Many stores have included a bean bag within their collections as the perfect addition to any room. The practicality of the bean bag has also improved with the majority of covers being washable and far more durable than their leather predecessors which tended to rip and tear. After extensive use, naturally the foam will tend to get compressed, therefore replacement bags are also available to bring your seat new life and maintain the suppleness and comfort.

Today you can find a huge variety of shapes, sizes, colours and designs of bean bags to suit every home. Some may come pre-shaped in a seat form, some with headrests and even armrests or the traditional loose bag. The bean bag world has also extended into foot rests, loungers, box seats and even sofas. The newest form of bean bag is the giant variety such as the high quality Elephant bean bag range which are suitable for both indoors and out with a wipe clean and waterproof cover. Elephant bean bags come in an array of colours and patterns to choose from and are suitable for both adults and children. The range also includes an Elephant dog bed!

If you are re-designing your home or just giving your furniture a much needed update, the bean bag is the perfect addition. They are great value for money and robust which means they will last as well as being one of the most comfortable and versatile seats you will ever own.

The Cool Bag Versus the Metal Lunch Box

It's no secret that metal lunch boxes are going to be a thing of the past soon. The cool bag versus the metal lunch box literally has no real competition at all. There are so many different products of this type. Lunch boxes are all made of metal and food can perish because they basically keep the temperature of the surrounding environment. However with a cool bag the food or contents inside stay at a much cooler temperature and the contents stay cool.

Breaking a cool bag down would be much like as follows. The outer shell is made of nylon and PVC coating. The lining is of course made of PVC as well. And most of them have an adjustable strap or a handle of some type.

If an individual had to they can even refrigerate the cool bag, and if you are using a metal lunch box they are rather bulky for a refrigerator and getting other items into the refrigerator.

In addition, there are many different products of this type to choose from. Regardless of the concept of them being for an adult or for a child, they can be purchased for all ages. There might be some places locally that have the products for purchase only with a limited selection.

Whereas if you go online and do a search for the product the results you receive will be phenomenal. Also, by purchasing the cool bag via the Internet there are quite a lot of them to choose from. Colours, sizes, shapes and you can also have your name or logo placed on them with personalization.

Some of them literally have patterns on them while there are others that have solid colours. In fact they are al rather gorgeous. And yet, they are all made up somewhat of the same material as listed above and this is what makes them a lot better than metal lunch boxes. Food placed into the cool bag will not perish but will last quite a bit longer than the metal lunch box.

But still, there are smaller bags for children, and children are those, which usually use a metal lunch box. On a minor note some children are given brown sacks for his or her lunch and even these are not as reliable as a cool bag. It's easy to make a purchase for these products via the Internet.

For more information there are several web sites as stated above where you can literally purchase the cool bag that is extremely better than a metal lunch box. Also, by making a purchase via the Internet you ultimately have a larger selection to choose from, and many consumers who have already purchased the cool bag via the Internet agree that they are very affordable. And, in all reality an individual can do a lot of comparative shopping through a variety of web sites to find the best one that will fit your needs. And, which one you prefer. There will most likely a shipping charge of some type.
